My new (free!)Mizuno running shoes

The Mezamashii Run Project is an effort by Mizuno to help create a more euphoric running experience — a more “brilliant” run — for more runners everywhere. The word “mezamashii” means “eye-opening” or “brilliant” in Japanese — it’s a word that captures the euphoric feeling of a brilliant run. They picked 600 runners to be the founding members of this project and I am one of them.  I feel very lucky and also honored.

New shoes from Mizuno. I love them.

I run 10 miles a day, 6 days a week.  I use 2 pairs of running shoes switching them off ever-other-day. After 3 months I retire both pairs and buy 2 more pair of shoes and 2 more pairs of insole liners. Before a marathon I replace the insole liners. This comes out to 8 pairs of shoes a year and a couple of dozen insole liners so when I got a call offering a free pair I could not have been more excited. (although it seemed to good to be true) They showed up as promised on my door step about  two weeks ago. I started using them  and so far I am impressed.
